Overview
Inside Out Security first came to us through our Local SEO Challenge. After working their way through around 60% of the course (more than most people complete!), they had seen enough value to trust us with their marketing properly.
Once we reviewed the business in more detail, the biggest issue became obvious: the foundations were not strong enough.
Their website structure was poor, the sitemap lacked strategy, and the imagery was not doing the brand justice. There was already some SEO activity happening in the background, but much of that visibility was tied to keywords that were not really driving the right commercial outcome.
So rather than chasing more surface-level traffic, the focus became clear: rebuild the website properly, strengthen the local SEO foundations, and position the business to rank for more valuable search terms.
Key Results
- Rebuilt the website on WordPress with a stronger structure for SEO
- Improved the overall visual presentation using new professional brand photography
- Increased visibility for more commercially relevant local keywords
- Achieved strong local presence for “alarm system installation”
- Google Business Profile recorded 234 interactions, up 23.2% year-on-year for the reporting period shown
The Client
Inside Out Security provides CCTV, alarm systems, access control, and security monitoring for homes and businesses across Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast.
They were not the kind of client coming in cold with no initiative. They had already started learning and taking action themselves through our Local SEO Challenge, which made the partnership much stronger from day one. By the time they engaged us, they already understood that better marketing is not just about getting a nicer-looking website — it is about building a stronger platform for growth.
The Challenge
At first glance, this was not a business with “zero SEO”. There was already some traffic and some rankings in place.
But when we looked closer, the real issue was quality over quantity.
The website was not structured well, the sitemap lacked direction, and the overall presentation was not reflecting the standard of the business. On top of that, some of the keyword visibility they already had was not for terms that were really moving the needle from a lead generation point of view.
So the challenge was not simply to “get more traffic”.
The challenge was to build a better website and a better SEO strategy around the searches that actually matter.
Main issues we identified:
- Poor website structure
- Weak sitemap and page hierarchy
- Outdated or low-impact imagery
- SEO visibility that did not fully align with commercial intent
- A need for stronger local positioning across priority service areas
What We Did
Our recommendation was to start with the foundations.
We proposed a new WordPress website that was structured properly from the ground up, then moved straight into local SEO optimisation.
One of the easiest wins in the project was that the client had recently completed a high-quality photo shoot.
That made a big difference. Good photography lifts the perceived quality of a service business instantly. It also makes it much easier to build a website that feels trustworthy, polished, and aligned with the calibre of work being delivered.
Why This Worked
This campaign worked because the goal was not just “more SEO”.
It was about improving the quality of the visibility.
A lot of businesses get caught chasing traffic without asking whether the traffic is actually leading to better enquiries. In this case, the opportunity was to tighten the structure, improve the targeting, and build a website that better supported the services and locations that matter most.
That meant shifting the focus from vanity metrics to:
- stronger keyword intent
- better local relevance
- better trust signals
- stronger conversion foundations
- more useful long-term search visibility
The Results

At the time of writing, Inside Out Security is performing strongly for “alarm system installation”, with ranking data showing clear visibility across key parts of their service area.
Just as importantly, the business now has a much stronger overall online presence. The new website is better structured, the branding feels more professional, and the SEO work is more closely aligned with the services and locations that actually matter.
The Google Business Profile performance also points in the right direction. In the reporting period shown, the profile recorded 234 interactions, up 23.2% compared with the same period the year before. The profile also shows a strong 4.9-star rating from 76 Google reviews, giving the business added trust in both Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast.

For a local service business, that mix of stronger rankings, better presentation, and real profile engagement is exactly what you want to see. It shows the foundations are improving in a way that supports both visibility and trust.
That progress is also reflected in the client’s own feedback. As Brendon Neal said in his review:

That kind of response says a lot. It shows that the work is not just improving the numbers on paper – it is giving the client confidence that the strategy is finally moving in the right direction.

What’s Next
The next step is Google Ads.
Because the client’s factory location sits outside the CBD, paid search will help fill visibility gaps and strengthen coverage in priority areas where organic rankings alone may not do all the work.
The goal is to combine Local SEO and Google Ads into a more complete lead generation system – using SEO to build long-term visibility, and Google Ads to capture high-intent demand more consistently.
Inside Out Security is a great example of what can happen when the foundations are fixed first.
By rebuilding the website properly, improving the structure, upgrading the imagery, and refining the local SEO strategy, we helped position the business more effectively for the services and locations that matter most.
With Google Ads now being added into the mix, the next phase is about building on that foundation and turning stronger visibility into more consistent lead flow.
